The inside is glazed for easy cleaning, and the outside is unglazed black stoneware. The unglazed clay does build up a bit of a tea patina over time, but a scrub with baking soda or Cafiza once every couple months keeps mine looking clean (I've had it for years). \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: #000000;\"\u003eThe top of the tray is a little over 9\" across at its widest point. The usable surface area is about 8\" across. The tray stands about 3\" tall.
